Easter photos! (Just a little late.)

Easter pictures! I never posted Easter pictures. My mother is bothering me about this, because it is very important. So here they are.

Cutie Scott models his Easter outift before church. Notice the shredded paper on the floor to the left of him. He's really into shredding paper these days. I, on the other hand, am not so into it.


Despite his absence from all of the church photos, Travis really was there that day. And he looked nice, too! But somebody has to take the pictures, and that somebody was him. These were shot in the memorial garden at our church. 

ARGH - I don't know why stupid Blogger is cutting off half of this picture. Whatever, I don't know how to fix it, either.

The kids were their usual cooperative selves.

Surgeries and summertime and lots of catch-up!

 It has been ages since I have updated this blog - we've been so busy! Scott had his tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy April 14, and it was quite an ordeal. He also had tubes put in his ears. The surgery itself went very well, but the recovery was extremely rough. Poor little guy went a good two weeks without eating much of anything at all (I'm not exaggerating - he ate like two or three pieces of Kraft cheese that whole time), and getting him to drink was a major endeavor, too. I had to physically force juice down his throat with a medicine dropper for a couple weeks after the procedure. Poor man was in so much pain, he just didn't want to swallow anything at all. I couldn't even get him to eat ice cream or popsicles.

Isn't he cute in his little hospital gown? This was taken the morning of the surgery while we were waiting for them to come get us. Scott obviously has no idea what is in store for him (and neither did I!).


Um, what? You're going to cut what? Out of my throat? 


Here he is, after they gave him some loopy-loo drug to calm him down before wheeling him into surgery. He was pretty drizzunk. That purple thing in his mouth is one of his chewy tubes (the kid likes to chew).


And here he is, all settled in his hospital room after the surgery. He was pretty out of it in this shot.


Thankfully, he's back to 100% now, and he's gained back all the weight he lost. He got so skinny after his surgery, he could hardly hold his pants up for awhile there.

In other Scott news, he started the preschool special education class at Magnolia Trace in January. Since he turned 3 and aged out of Early Steps, we made the transition to the public school system, and Scott now receives all of his therapy at school. His schedule has been three half-days a week at Magnolia Trace, and two half-days a week at St. Timothy, where we go to church. Scott has really thrived in both environments, and I was so sad when he had his last days of school this past week. It's going to be a looooong summer. Ideas for entertaining these two kids are more than welcome.

As for Juliet - no surgeries to report, but she keeps me plenty busy. She's 18 months old and has decided to get a headstart on the Terrible Twos. The child can throw a tantrum like you would not believe! She's a little spitfire, and she wants what she wants when she wants it. Thank goodness she's cute. She has such a funny, little personality, and she cracks us up all the time with her goofiness.

She is really into this ridiculous wig right now (I played dress-up in this thing as a kid).

I always said I wanted a little girl with a head full of blonde curls.

Seriously, she wears that wig ALL the time. It's hilarious. Here she is with my mom.


Now that the weather is nice, we've been able to drag out the kids' pool, and they're loving it - especially Scott. He is such a little fish and will happily entertain himself in the water for hours! We're looking into swimming lessons for him this summer.


He especially loves playing with running water.


Those blue things you see in his ears are the ear plugs we had custom molded for him after he had his ear tubes placed. They're great - fit perfectly into his ears, and he doesn't mess with them or try to pull them out. And he definitely needs them, because the kids is constantly putting his head under water and blowing bubbles.






Juliet was a little unsure of the water at first, but she eventually warmed up to it.


Tad Smith made sure to stay far away from the kids and the hose.


That's all the updating I have for today. I'll make an effort to update more often this summer. I know it's been way too long since I shared pictures of the kids - they're getting so big so quickly!
